A video released during the National Conference on Addiction Disorders in August of 2017 has over 173,000 dislikes on YouTube psychologically terrorizing without a warning. It is pure hell to those who rely on stability and positive imagery to recover from trauma daily. The 7-minute video causes a fragile mind emotional distress showing underage sex, bullying, alcohol use, drug withdrawal, a youth with a gun to their head, a fake male erect penis, and inappropriate student teacher embracing but worse it causes disruption and pushes minds negatively. Ultimately the numbers showing suicide 2017 forward will prove to cause death. The video named 1-800 Suicide Prevention was removed from MTV by in-house lawyers within 24 hours of review and the day it was released by Spectrum on MTV Viacom’s stock plummeted to an all time low and still has not gained.
Such is the case with the new medical specialty of Addiction Medicine introduced in 2015. Surely this is cause for reexamination of national drug policy and procedures.
Reckitt Benckiser the makers of Film Suboxone is such a case in point. Reckitt Benckiser was recently fined 1.4 billion by the Department of Justice for using deceptive marketing practices and defrauding the American people to increase the use of their highly addictive product (read a PDF of the article). Advertising must not be used to confuse and change America’s consciousness when alcohol is the most used drug that causes severe distraction and sickness. Film Suboxone is the second most prescribed drug in Maine and when used with alcohol causes overdose and worse it kills. Recovery is personal, familiar, and unique to each who suffers and AA saves millions in communities nationwide.

Causing emotional distress is not good business and in fact dismantles families. The trend has spurred ER visits, hospital stays, interrupts balance in therapy, psychiatry and in the recovery community. Mother Nature, music, family, therapy, doctors and community helps. Film Suboxone may save but it also confuses more than just the user. This is a national travesty and every day It continue defies reason. Contemplating the ramifications scares most and the law must start helping the most vulnerable being affected.
